This course deals with setting up and maintaining a distributed 8i Database.
The course includes the following aspects:

Configuring a distributed Oracle Net and SQL*Net environment

Placing an 8i Database in multi-threaded server mode

Incorporating Oracle Names Server and Connection Manager into the environment

8i Network Administration

This course uncovers the mystery of the Oracle 8i Database middleware contained within Oracle Net / SQL*Net.
All of the configuration files are considered along with their contents and how these can be customised.
The Oracle Net assistant is also covered and this tool is used for multi-threaded server configuration of the Database , activating the Oracle Names Server and the Oracle Connection Manager.
