SQL is Structured Query Language, pronounced 'sequel' or by its letters, SQL is a language specifically written for Users, Developers
and Administrators to communicate with a Database. SQL is the backbone of all operations on a Database. SQL can be used for querying records from the Database, inserting and updating
records as well as creating objects. Objects can be as simple as Tables, Views or Sequences, or as sophisticated as the Database itself.
By its very name, its structure is very formalised and has strict programming conventions, its syntax will seem pretty unforgiving to
the User attempting to learn the SQL language without proper guidance and training.
SQL Developer is a GUI front end which allows the User to perform SQL tasks with the minimum of SQL knowledge, however to get the best out of the product the User needs to be aware of the
implications of the SQL syntax and the consequence of its execution.

Part I of the SQL Developer course covers the essentials needed by a 'power User', someone who needs to interrogate the Database but not necessarily need to create objects
within the Database.
Part II of the SQL Developer course covers more advanced query techniques as well as creating, altering and understanding Database Objects such as Tables, Views, Indexing etc ...
The Delegates are guided throughout the four days by a highly experienced Oracle Consultant taking the delegate from basic SQL queries, where clauses, to creating
tables in the Database and populating them, with lots of exercises to enforce the new knowledge.
The pricing for this course depends on the number attending, whether the location is on-site or at a local conference centre close to your
place of work, sizeable discounts are available when more than two delegates attend the course (up to 12 delegates can be placed on the same
At the end of the course the Delegate will have greatly increased their knowledge of the facilities available through SQL in an
