Synopsis for Java 11 Swing with Eclipse 2018-12 training course
It’s a funny old name for a software package, Java Swing … sounds more like a kiddie's toy or something like that not a powerful front end product! Java Swing is a GUI front end tool built into the Java product, it can produce quality, professional interfaces using Java and most probably links to an Oracle or MySQL Database.
Java Swing used to be called AWT or Abstract Windowing Toolkit and some of the classes available in this version can still be used. It’s a five day course which is the duration of all of our Java courses, there's a lot to learn and plenty of exercises within that time to practice the techniques we introduce.
The course starts with the high level objects, Windows and Frames, it is within these that the Delegate will be placing the other objects we will introduce throughout the course, we don’t flood the Delegates with everything they need to know, we gradually introduce new elements after they perfect existing ones, all in all there are nearly thirty Java Swing classes we discuss and use on the course.
We've reproduced the index of this course lower down on this page, each object is introduced at the appropriate time during the course, the manual has plenty of examples of the object's usage and we also supply a CD at the end of the course with loads of working code for the Delegate to 'lift' when needed at their place of work.
This version of the Java Swing course uses the Eclipse software, if you are not familiar with Eclipse it is an ideal interface to use Java with, amongst other things it has a very comprehensive interactive editor which will pop up suggestions for code completion, quite useful when your memory is not as good as it should be! It won't matter if you haven’t used Eclipse before, our Consultant will be on hand to assist you in using the product, however, if you haven’t used Java before or not attended our Java programming course (usually scheduled a week before this one in our public calendar), then you will need to take that training first, this course assumes you know Java and its syntax and are ready to learn more.
All of our public courses commence at 9am and finish at around 4.30pm, we say around because our Consultants do not strictly adhere to the finish time in case some Delegates need more time to complete the last exercise of the day, on our public courses lunch is provided with copious amounts of coffee and tea throughout the day. We encourage all Delegates to take a break for a few minutes after completing an exercise, stretch their legs, make a call, answer some texts, check their emails whatever needs to be done to relax and chill. We do the same on our onsite courses but in those instances most Delegates will return to their desks for a few moments to see what's going on in their business.
Onsite training at your venue can be an excellent option for a lot of Companies, we come to your place of work, we bring all the equipment we need for the course, we don’t plug into your Network and all we need is a nice room with sufficient tables and chairs for the Delegates to work comfortably in (lots of elbow room if possible).
