Synopsis for Oracle 19c SQL training course

If SQL were a film star it would be John Wayne or Katherine Hepburn not a modern day actor such as Tom Cruise or Kristen Stewart, that’s because in computing terms SQL has longevity of life which the Hollywood greats had, they were in it for the long haul and so is SQL.

Dreamt up by two IBM developers in the 1970s, a precursor to the Oracle Corporation brought out a version to be used against a rudimentary Database and the rest is history; it means that SQL has been around longer than most Users using the commands.

Has SQL changed in the last forty years or so ? well yes it has and so have the Databases it runs against, Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite to name a few, what they have in common is, thanks to American National Standards Institute, the SQL used by all Databases is pretty standard, but all Database systems have propriety 'add ons' and Oracle is no exception and in fact has the greatest number of additions to the SQL command system.

Oracle is undoubtedly the biggest player in Database systems; therefore it stands to reason that they have the most 'personalisation' of SQL.

This five day course covers all the standard SQL areas, all techniques of data selection, creating objects as well as 'Oracle-centric' areas such as virtual columns, data pump and external tables. As well as presentations and discussions of the techniques, the Delegates will have plenty of time during the 20 exercises which are peppered throughout the week, in fact there is an average of 4 exercises per day, and each day is ended on one. At the end of the course, the Delegates are given copies of all of the exercise solutions and they get to keep the very comprehensive course manuals which in this case comprise of over 900 slides packed full of examples and technique discussions, these manuals are produced on high quality 120 gsm paper which means they are sturdy and will last a very long time.

Looking at the course you may feel that a lot of the topics are not suitable for your Delegates so we have a different course to offer, this is a two day course entitled the 'Essential 21c SQL Oracle course', it covers the main aspects of Oracle SQL, again look at the index on its webpage, it maybe that there are topics in this course that you need covering, talk to us about producing a customised version of the course.
